Championing reproductive rights & social justice since 1957.

About MFPWA EST. 1957 — MAURITIUS

The Mauritius Family Planning & Welfare Association is the country's leading NGO for sexual and reproductive health — a democratic, volunteer-driven organisation advancing equity through advocacy, education, service provision, capacity building, data collection and care.

01 Our Mission

Advancing social justice, gender equity, and informed choice.

The MFPWA, in collaboration with its key stakeholders, is fully engaged in providing all citizens of the Republic of Mauritius — families, women, men, adolescents (girls and boys), the disabled and LGBTs — universal access to quality integrated FP-SRHR information and services in an equitable, efficient, digitalized and sustained manner.

02 Our Vision

Sexual & reproductive health for every Mauritian — accessible, affordable, absolute.

A Mauritian society where every individual responsibly enjoys full sexual and reproductive health and rights, and where Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services are available, accessible and affordable to all — irrespective of sex, gender, age, creed or sexual orientation.

Who We Are

Six decades of quiet revolution.

Founded in 1957, MFPWA is the leading NGO in Mauritius for sexual and reproductive health rights and services. A democratic, volunteer-driven organisation, we combine decades of experience with a national network of outreach services, clinics, a drop-in centre, daycare facilities and retail outlets — including the Rodrigues branch.

Our work spans education, counselling, research, training, advocacy, and direct clinical care — delivered with the conviction that health is a right, not a privilege.
